[Finished] Written in the stars (BTS)

  • The day had been super hectic after breakfast. We all helped Alina pack some things such as her clothes and some of her personal belongings. We put everything in boxes which were going to be taken with us. In truth, there wasn’t a lot. We put most of the food in two other boxes which we were going to take with us.
  • All through the day, Alina was doing phone calls, probably to set things straight. I heard her talking to people about bills and postage and needing to suddenly move somewhere else. A part of me felt really guilty that because of us she was going to have to move and turn her life upside down, but I then reminded myself of her words. ‘This was just a house and with you I can build a home,’ – that had touched my very soul. It made me feel happy because we were finally together – all eight of us, like it was written in the stars.
  • ‘Seems like everything is ready,’ Namjoon commented as we all turned to look at the number of boxes, piled next to each other.
  • ‘Yep. We just need to wait for Solania to come pick us up and take us to the dock,’ Alina responded.
  • ‘I hate to be the buzz killer, but you said Solania is a human girl,’ Yoongi commented. Alina nodded. ‘How do you trust her?’ he asked. There was no judgment in his voice, only curiosity.
  • ‘I remind myself that there are good and bad humans just like there are good and bad people of our kind,’ she began. ‘Besides, I’ve known Solania for years and she knows the truth about me and our world,’ she explained.
  • ‘How did she react when she found out about us. I mean that witches and werewolves and the whole lot of us really exist?’ Hoseok asked.
  • ‘Quite good actually. Solania found out because,’ Alina began but paused. She closed her eyes and shuddered before she looked back at us once more. ‘Because I had saved her life,’ she explained.
  • ‘Oh? What happened then?’ Jungkook asked, getting curious. She smiled, sadly before she took a deep breath to answer.
  • ‘Solania was always a hard worker. She used to work multiple jobs just to help her family and when she started with the publishing company, she was at the very bottom, so she used to work as a waitress at a restaurant. One night, she finished a late shift and she was on her way home when two thugs attacked her in an alleyway,’ she explained.
  • ‘Oh my goddess!’ I exclaimed, feeling my heart clench, even if I did not know the girl. I imagined her, young, tired after a long day at work and then suddenly attacked. I looked at Alina’s whose face was hardening at the memory.
  • ‘I just happened to be there. I had gone to town and my car decided to stop working so I had to stay overnight. I heard her scream and I don’t know, I just ran to her direction,’ she said with a shrug as she played with her fingers.
  • ‘You always were kind,’ Jin commented while Taehyung seemed to study her. I reached for her hand and held it in mine. She was actually rather cold.
  • ‘Hmm,’ Alina commented before she took a shaky breath to continue. ‘It was a mugging – they stole her money but the *s had stabbed her three times, leaving her for dead,’ she explained.
  • ‘That’s horrible,’ Hoseok said with a distraught look on his face. ‘You healed her?’ he asked.
  • ‘Yeah. It wasn’t just because I knew her, because it was still a risk. I healed her, got rid of her clothes and took her to the motel room with me. We talked about everything in our world but I did not see fear or judgement in her eyes. Instead, there was awe and excitement,’ Alina said with a chuckle.
  • Before we could continue talking, we heard the doorbell ring. Alina stood up and went to the door. ‘Alina! Are you okay?’ I heard a woman yell out.
  • I heard Alina chuckle in response as she tried to reassure her friend. The two women made their way to the living room and I could not help but look at friend. I could not deny that she was pretty, but in my eyes, her beauty did not compare to that of Alina.
  • I watched as Solania studied Alina with a frown on her face. ‘Look at what those *s did to you,’ Solania said angrily. ‘I don’t know if this is stupid, but can’t we report it to the police or something? This can’t go unpunished. It’s not fair!’ she said, almost with a pout.
  • ‘And tell them what Sol? That a group of hunters kidnapped a witch and a werewolf and were going to kill us?’ Alina asked and Solania huffed.
  • ‘Well not exactly, but maybe we can spin it that they’re a stupid cult with extreme beliefs. Who do you think the court is going to believe? You pretending to be human claiming that a cult is after them or the actual cult of loony goons?’ Solania asked, making me smile a little. I knew she was simply trying to help but although she knew about our world, she had no clue how it really worked.
  • ‘Sol, it’s more complicated than that,’ Alina said. ‘They have people in high places. We won’t even make it to court before they got rid of us,’ Alina explained.
  • ‘We appreciate that you’re trying to help and looking out for Alina, but they’re very dangerous people Solania,’ Namjoon said, taking a step forward. Solania turned around as she blinked her eyes, almost as if she was realizing we were there.
  • ‘You’re… you’re the wolves,’ Solania said as she gulped. We nodded as we all gave a slight bow of the head. She looked at Alina and smirked. ‘You weren’t kidding when you said that wolves tended to be hot!’ Solania said.
  • ‘Yah!’ Alina shouted as her face instantly became red while Solania just laughed. I could see why Alina liked her.
  • ‘Sorry, I could not resist,’ she said with a sheepish smile. ‘So, they’re all your soulmates?’ she asked Alina who smiled, almost proudly. ‘Damn girl, look at you go. You’ve got seven soulmates like that while I’m stuck being single, my only relationships being with food and my bed,’ Solania said, making all of us chuckle slightly.
  • ‘Hey, I was just like that yesterday. Just wait until your perfect match comes along,’ Alina said.
  • ‘I think mine got stuck in some damned tree and when he does show up, I’m gonna shove a tree branch up his ass for making me wait for so long,’ Solania said.
  • I stood blinking at her before I erupted into laughter. Soon everyone was laughing, forgetting all about the tension we felt these two days. Solania smiled as she patted Alina’s shoulder.
  • We finally calmed down and Solania took a deep breath before she nodded to herself. ‘I guess this is it huh? Do you have everything you need?’ she asked.
  • ‘We do. We just need to bring them to your van and you can drive us to the dock,’ Alina said.
  • ‘Let’s get going then,’ Solania said as she reached for one of the boxes. The rest of us all did the same as we grabbed the boxes and started heading out.
